Seven on Sunday

Happy November, Happy Standard Time, and Happy NaBloPoMo to those who celebrate.

First off, while I resent the time change twice a year, I’m glad to get back to Standard Time. I know that several Canadian Provinces are not joining us in ‘falling back’ and are staying on Daylight Time. I am curious as to how people will feel in the dark of winter when it feels like the sun will never come up in the mornings.

The US experimented with staying on Daylight Time back in the 70s, and people hated it, so we went back to switching back and forth. Given the choice between staying on Standard Time and staying on Daylight Time, which would you choose? Or do you prefer switching back and forth, aside from the pain of the actual switching?

I earned a badge in Wordle for hitting 1,500 games played! That made me pretty happy. My current streak is pretty good, though I still have almost 150 games to hit my maximum streak of 445. I was pretty sad the day I lost that streak…I don’t remember what the word was, though. If my math is correct, that would have been 308 days prior to my current streak, which would mean December 26, 2025, when the word was SPEED. I wonder if that’s true.

I’ve gotten some fun mail/gifts recently! I don’t always think to post a picture of the fun mail I get from my blogger friends, but this time I did…Thank you to Michelle and Maya for the book marks, and to DB and Stephany for the postcards!

Why is Gilmore Girls having a moment? I don’t know. Our neighboring town had their Fall and Foliage Festival, which was mostly fans getting to meet some of the stars from the show, including the actors who played Luke, Emily, Michele, Kurt, Mrs. Kim, and a couple of others. If you didn’t want to pay a couple of hundred dollars for a meet and greet of some sort, there wasn’t much to see or do, and the complainers are pretty angry on Facebook. I’m glad I didn’t go. I’ll admit that the festival got me to watching again, for who knows which time. Why? I can’t help myself. I’ll admit to being surprised to see this magazine at the grocery store the other day.

While waiting for my hold on Big Little Truths to come in, I prepped by listening to Big Little Lies. I hadn’t read it before, though we watched the HBO series, which I really enjoyed. Maybe I’ll rewatch that soon too.

Are you captivated by the story of Elizabeth Holmes, the fraudster founder of Theranos? Ted is, and while I was in Ohio recently, he went to see the docudrama, You Can See Everything. I really liked the write up he posted on his blog.

Lastly, I guess I’m participating in San’s NaBloPoMo again this year. I’ve been waffling on it, because while I usually have a plan and a bunch of posts prewritten and loaded, this year I am going to be flying by the seat of my pants. One year I did all book reviews. Several years I’ve done an A-Z theme, where the first 26 posts are in alphabetical order.

Asking an old school Mommy Blogger for help

This year, I have nothing. I’ve read a couple of books, so you’ll get some book reviews. I may resort to some Wordless Wednesdays and Throwback Thursdays along the way. Time will tell. I’m looking forward to seeing posts from those of you who are participating, though I know I’m going to fall behind and not be able to keep up and comment. I’m going to try not to stress and just let it be fun.

Happy Sunday, I hope you enjoyed your extra sleep this morning!
