Meme Monday

This one made me laugh in that rueful way that one does with such things. Blah, 2020 sucks. I fear 2021 will not be any better, but perhaps with a new President, we will at least have hope again.

Anyway, it’s a double meme day. You get the picture meme type up above, and now an old school blog meme here. Copied from Facebook, of course, but since none of my blog readers are my friends on FB, you can’t see it if I don’t share it here.

22 random facts about me:

1. Do you make your bed? Always, unless Ted does. I work from home and we have a small townhouse, so my office is in my bedroom. Sometimes I don’t make it untl 10:00 or so, but I always make it.

2. What’s your favorite number? 3, it’s a magic number.

3. What’s your dream job? Owner of a library with a pony farm right there. Books and horses. Kids could read and then ride, or ride and then read. Adults too.

4. If you could, would you go back to high school? Why would anyone do that? Maybe though, to see my BFF Rosemary every day…

5. Can you parallel park in less then 3 moves? Fewer? Yes. On a hill with a MUNI bus coming at me, back in the day. Stick shift too. Now? Just barely.

6. A job you had which people would be shocked to know you had? Shocked? None that I can think of. Mr Steak? No, you all know that one. How about cleaning out stalls at a horse stable in exchange for free rides. Wait, not free if I worked for them…

7. Do you think aliens are real? Certainly, if you mean is there life out there, but I think they are too far away and we will never meet.

8. Can you drive a stick shift? Yes

9. Guilty TV pleasure? Beverly Hills 90210 and Gilmore Girls.

10.Tattoos? No. Never tempted.

11. If the world ends do you want to be one of the survivors? Ask again later, not sure. Maya asked me what I meant by that. I said, well, it sounds horrific, why would anyone want to survive that way? But the alternative is being dead, and that doesn’t sound so great either.

12. Sweet or salty? Salty every day of the week and twice on Sunday. It’s not that I don’t like sweets sometimes, it’s just that given the choice, I pick potato chips over candy.

13. Do you enjoy soaking in a nice hot bath? Gross

14. Do you consider yourself a strong person? Yes

15. Things people do that drive you crazy? Be rude and cruel.

16. Do you have any birthmarks? No. I have a lot of moles. Are those birth marks? I don’t think so.

17. Favorite childhood game? Connect 4.

18. Do you talk to yourself? Not often (Maya said, “I beg to differ”, so perhaps I should change my answer to ‘yes’. But I will have to confer with myself.

19. Do you like doing puzzles? Kinda. Not enough to actually buy any, but if for some reason I find myself doing one, I like it.

20. Music genre? Rock, Jazz, R&B, Alternative, not Country.

21. Tea or Coffee? Tea, though I do love a good latte.

22. First thing you remember wanting to be when you grew up? Hmmm…first thing? A jockey I think. Then a vet.

    5. Can you parallel park in less then 3 moves? Oh hell no.

    6. A job you had which people would be shocked to know you had? Nothing shocking. Worked at a big department store’s pet department. Loved that.

    14. Do you consider yourself a strong person? Yes

    15. Things people do that drive you crazy? Not use turn signals; play music outdoors loudly; hang windchimes; have their noses hanging out of their masks; say “irregardless”; let their dogs outside barking all day…oh, tons of things.

    17. Favorite childhood game? Authors.

    21. Tea or Coffee? Coffee.

    22. First thing you remember wanting to be when you grew up? A teacher.

Nance, I don’t know about Ohio, but in California, they don’t even require parallel parking on the driver’s test. So, in typical logic, the driver’s schools don’t teach it unless you specifically request it. WTH. I hate teaching to the test, especially when the test excludes real life skills!

I wonder if I would like a bath if it were nice and deep. Maybe if I lived somewhere where I could shower first, so it doesn’t feel like I’m making J soup, then sit in the tub (jacuzzi jets would make it even better), and then shower again after. That’s a lot of water for California, so not here. But we have a crappy shallow tub anyway. I wonder why they make them that way? Perhaps to be easier to step in and out of. Which just reminded me of Cora stepping out of the bath on Downton Abby….sad.

I like the math question. Seems legit.

Am impressed to know you can parallel park like a pro. It’s been a long time since I had to parallel park, but back when I did, like you, I did so with a stick shift, but it took me about 10 maneuvers.

I learned pretty well in drivers ed, I guess…and then it was drilled into my by necessity. I lived in San Francisco, and the majority of the parking aside from garages downtown is parallel parking.
