Friends to the Rescue

Way back when we decided to attempt selling our place and moving up to a slightly bigger place, we thought it would happen quickly. Put our place on the market in early May, move in June, go on a well deserved vacation in July.

That was the idea, anyway, based on the last two townhouses in our complex, and how long it took them to sell.  However, the market in our specific micro climate has changed drastically, and selling has become a bit of a nightmare. And yet…we still need a vacation.

So, here we are, with family visits, school registration, work, etc., all limiting our options for when we can take some time out. And of course, waiting so long means last minute reservations, which means that a lot of our vacation options are our of our budget. And yet…we still need a vacation.

Enter friends. Ted’s friend Ramzi, whose family has a place up in Tahoe, and my friend Micheal, who still works at the hotel in San Francisco where I used to work way back when. Ramzi got us a little Tahoe vacation for free, and Micheal got us a little SF vacation for not too much money, so we’re going to play tourist, take some time off, and RELAX!  We’ll be in SF from Sat – Tuesday, then Tahoe Tuesday – Saturday, home again next Saturday evening, I’m thinking.  I love SF.  I love Tahoe.  I’m stoked for both.

So…you won’t be seeing much of us in the near future…but we’ll come back all tan and rested, and hopefully better off for the break. See you next week!

That is the thing I love about California; so many places to visit right in our backyard. As you can see from my blog entries, I have done only California trips this summer. There are so many places I still haven’t seen like Tahoe and the Redwood forest to name a few. I hope you have a fantastic vacation.
