Saturday 9
I found this little meme over at A Gentleman’s Domain, and it looked so summery, I had to give it a try. He found it at One Gal’s Musings, and it was invented by Crazy Sam at Saturday 9.  Â
1. What is your favorite summer drink?
Lemonaid, I guess. I don’t drink it often, but I’m much more likely to want it in the summer than in the winter.
2. What is the best summer sport to play?
Swimming. Probably the only summer sport I enjoy, because I don’t enjoy getting hot and sticky.
3. What’s the best summer sport to watch?
Equestrian. So pretty. I’m hoping to catch some of the Equestrian on the Olympics this year. Last year it was relegated to Bravo, which we didn’t get. Grrr.
4. Do you like the ocean, the pool or the lake?
All of the above, though after spending a week in Hawaii in July, I’ll say the ocean mostly beats the other two. The beaches are better, and snorkeling with fish and turtles cannot be beat.
5. Some folks drink whiskey in the winter and gin, tequila (margaritas) or rum drinks in the summer. Does you alcohol of choice change?
No. I’ve been known to drink a gin and tonic if it’s over 110 degrees outside, but usually, I just like white wine. I like red wine a lot, too, but it doesn’t like me.
6. What is your favorite summer song?
The Boys of Summer, by Don Henley. Also Cruel Summer, by Bananarama, and Summer of Love, by the B52s.
7. What was your best summer growing up? How old were you and why was it best?
No idea. I liked the summers in Alaska, picking berries, staying up really late with the midnight sun, going to the lake. I liked summers in Stockton, lazing by the community pool with Rosemary. I liked the summer I spent cleaning out horse stables, because I like horses. I liked the summer between 5th and 6th grades, when we went on vacation to Great America, Marine World (when it was in Redwood City), and Santa Cruz. That rocked.
8. Have you ever had a summer romance that you knew would end?
Not really, no.
9. How old were you when you first went skinny-dipping? Who were you with?
I’ll take the 5th on that one.

Great meme. If you don’t mind, I’d love to do this on my blog. Wow, you had some great summer experiences as a kid!

But the last question is the one we are most interested in!!
Susan Helene Gottfried
Yeah, I’d plead the fifth on that last one, too! Sorry, Nicholas!

Even though it was probably 110 degrees when you were cleaning out the horse stables, I’m glad the smell of all that horse crap didn’t sour your memories of that summer job. 🙂
