Happy Birthday Ted!

Today is Ted’s birthday, and we are going to celebrate in the best way, with family and friends. He and I will celebrate some more later this month, we’re going to Los Angeles to the Cruel World music festival! There will be some great 80s and 90s bands, like New Order, ‘Til Tuesday, Madness, Garbage, The Go Go’s, Devo, and more. That will be a lot of fun, but for now it’s time to party. In honor of my beloved husband, let’s do a Saturday Six, shall we?

Six Things About Ted

  1. He’s a lot of fun. I love days spent with him out and about, whether that is our weekly Friday Dinner Date, a movie, some bookstore shopping, even shopping for a new sofa or car is an adventure.
  2. He’s devoted. Devoted to me, to Maya, to his parents, his brother, his friends. Ted is loyal, and he is there for you.
  3. He’s kind. Ted has a strong sense of justice, and while he understands that the world is often not fair, he does his best to make it more so.
  4. He works hard. He has his job, he is on our homeowners association board (which is a LOT of work), he cooks on weekends, he cleans and does laundry and all of the things that keep a home running, he has a podcast, and he takes care of his parents as they age.
  5. He LOVES music. That is his passion. He loves going to live shows, finding new music, listening to old favorites, talking about music. He loves to read books about his favorite artists. He sometimes stays up long after Maya and I have gone to bed, watching music videos, just soaking it all in and enjoying it.
  6. He’s handsome. I mean, come on, look at that face!

Awww, happy birthday to Ted! He sounds like a great guy! He and my husband share a love of music, right down to the “staying up late to watch music videos”!

I am almost always the first one to bed. I like to sleep! Plus, I have limited patience with music videos, lol. Sometimes I watch with my husband because I want to share his interests, but there are only so many 80s songs I’ve never heard of that I can endure.

    Happy, happy birthday to Ted!!

What an amazing human for life’s journey… I love all your traditions and rituals… I hope you all have an amazing celebration!

And now I’ll be over there humming “Hush, Hush, Voices Carry” and “Stupid Girl”–songs I haven’t thought of in a while…

(I actually saw Garbage when they opened for Tears for Fears a couple of years ago!)
