3 Things…

1st, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, Happy Birthday to La Luna! Happy Happy Joy Joy, eat some bacon, and some cake, but please, don’t make it bacon cake! (unless that floats your boat, one never knows…)  La Luna is a wonderful sister to me, (my sister-in-law if you want to get technical) always there, always ready with a helping hand or to walk our doggy or loan me vanilla extract…always with a kind word if I need it, ready to help out. Thank you La Luna, for being you, and keep it up! Happy Birthday. 🙂

2nd, excitingly, we’re getting our new STOVE this morning! I’ll admit, I’m going to miss our old double oven unit, two ovens for the price of one. I will NOT miss only having three burners that work, and an oven that I’m never quite sure about…so this is a good thing. By by Tappan, Hello Frigidaire!

3rd, maybe this is TOO long to live?

You Will Die at Age 97
Congratulations! You take good care of yourself. You’re poised to live a long, healthy life.
This one has me torn…when I was honest, I got 88.  When I fudged about the flossing, vitamins, and wine consumption, I got 97.  Seeing my grandmothers, one of whom is 90, the other 84, and how no matter how well you care for your body, things get kind of rough there towards the end, I’m thinking maybe 97 might be TOO old.  So, um, I might not start flossing.  Then on the other side, do I really want gum disease to deal with, along with the other problems that come from not flossing?  I’m way over thinking this, aren’t I?  Talk to you later.  I’m going to go floss my teeth.

YEAH!! Happy Birthday, La Luna!!!! I hope your day is just wonderful!

That’s so exciting about getting a new stove. Enjoy!

Thank goodness I’m supposed to die at age 85! Maybe I’ll be lucky and just go along with life, all ducky and stuff, and then wake up dead one morning 🙂

Hooray a new stove!!!! Happy birthday to Laluna. I will live to be 80 and that’s old enough and still have my teeth : )

Happy Birthday Laluna! I hope she has a great day. Cool that you got a new stove. I’ll take the quiz. I’m sure I won’t live to be 100 or anything. 🙂

Happy Birthday La Luna!! I’m not taking the quiz. I don’t want to live forever and who knows, I may be hit by a bus tomorrow. If tomorrow they suddenly had bus service in my town 😉

Happy birthday to La Luna. Happy new stove.

What I read says that these little habits that are supposed to extend life are all well and good, but the only way to have a long life is to have long lived ancestors. And, J, you do. Some of them very long lived.

    Happy Birthday to your sis-in-law!

    New stoves rock.

I’m flossing more than I ever have before, but I’m not at once a day yet.

Ginger, the more you floss, the less likely you are to get absesses and so on. Infections in the mouth can cause health problems, especially if you’re older, and more easily wiped out by infections.

That’s my understanding, at least. 🙂

97 is only fun if you’re in good health and all of your contemporaries are still around and in similar condition. Both of Mr. Half’s grandmothers are still with us (94 and 96) and I think both are the last of anyone in their families with regard to siblings, spouses, in-laws, friends. Kinda sad.

Melissa, you must have missed the part where the leaking wasn’t from the microwave, but from the bathtub upstairs…so we still have the old microwave. 🙂

How’s gram doing these days? Does 97 look good to you, like something you’d like to attain? I’m not so sure…
