Vote Early, Vote Often

I kid! Only vote once. But some of you can vote early if you want to. Long lines and long waits are predicted on election day, so if you have the option to vote early, you might want to think about it. Could save you time, and take a bit of the crunch off of the poll workers on November 4th. Also, less chance of any shenanigans occurring with your ballot. 😉
The video is for the ladies, and a reminder to all of us that we should never take any of our rights for granted. They can all be taken away. Fight for them, and get out and VOTE.

I think it’s great they have early voting. It gives people more options to cast their vote, and that’s a good thing!

ohh! I want to find out about voting Early, but really I have no time. So I’ll be in line with everyone else. Thankfully my polling place is only across the street and I’ll work from home that day so I can go in the middle of the day if I wanted to.
VOTE!

I’ve already voted! In Oregon, everything is done through mail in ballot. The first time I was here for an election, I was surprised by the low voter participation. THEY MAIL THE BALLOT TO YOU! It’s not difficult! Well, making an INFORMED decision is a little more challenging, I suppose. Still …

That has always been my very favorite of the School House Rocks songs! 1920 wasn’t all that long ago…I’m very thankful to live during this time in history, although I still think we have progress to make in terms of equal rights for women. Still…we’ve come a long way, baby!
I voted early, and I was happy to see lots of women on the ballot running for the various offices, and it was a pleasure to cast my vote for many of them!
By the way, I voted mail-in, and it took me a couple of hours to fill out the ballot, as I wanted to make an informed decision, researching the issues and the candidates. So if anyone out there reading this is planning on voting at the polls on election day, I highly recommend filling out a sample ballot at home with all of your choices made, so that you don’t have to spend all that time inside a voting booth.

Starshine is right…do your homework and know your decisions before going in… I plan on going during the day too Cherry. My polling place is just a short walk and even shorter bike ride! I’m going to take along a small knitting project – socks maybe – to work on if there’s a long line. 🙂

I’ve been following this election so closely, I feel quite deprived that I don’t actually get to vote!

Hmmmmmm…..The Paradox of Women’s rights?
And your gonna vote for a dude!?!?!
J
Jimmy, I don’t have much choice, do I? Both candidates are men. Besides, I think Obama will be a better president for women’s issues in many ways.

Thanks for the video–I used to love Schoolhouse Rock!

I’m a voting junkie. I’ll vote no matter what the question, even if it’s just a show of hands for what kind of punch to serve at Open House. LOL. I’ve never missed an election since I was 18. And damn proud of that fact.

You know what I meant! There is a woman VP on the ticket and you are going to snub her my dear!!!!!
J
Jimmy, you’re right. I did know what you meant. But indeed, I shall snub her, because while I do believe that having a woman in that position would put women forward 50 years, having this particular woman would put us back 100, and I’m not willing to go there. 😉
