No Good Deed ~ Available on Netflix
I came across No Good Deed while browsing Netflix recently, and I’m glad I did. It’s the story of a couple, Lisa Kudrow and Ray Romano, who are selling their home in a wealthy area of Los Angeles. Of course, things are not what they seem, and shit happens. The cast is great, the writing sharp, the characters as flawed as you would hope. The house is beautiful and I would likely watch for that alone. If you like dark humor, and you don’t want a huge commitment (there is only one season), give it a try.

This sounds like something Phil and I might like! We just signed up for a streaming package that includes HBO. It’s our first time having HBO as a couple (Phil had it when he lived with friends after college since one of them was willing to pay up for it). We had a hard time deciding what to watch last night but decided on Hacks.

We watched a few crazy docs about Mormon women going off the deep end. One was Sins of the Mother (Lori Vallow) and Devil in the House (Ruby Franke). Stranger than fiction. Incredibly awful but mesmerizing. Now we are gluing ourselves to the US Open (tennis).
J
Oh those crazy Mormon shows…I tend to steer clear, but my daughter has watched one or two.

I have not heard of this and it does sound like something I’d like. I want to try more seasons because movies are too long and coach and I fall asleep too easily.
J
Not a big commitment here, give it a try.

HBO has so many great shows, and Hacks is definitely worth it.

I’ll have to return to this! My husband and I started it several months back but got distracted before finishing it. (I became intent on watching all six seasons of The Americans for the first time, which was quite a commitment!) We did like the couple episodes we watched though. My parents actually recommended it… and my mom especially is hard to please when it comes to TV shows so that’s a resounding endorsement as well.

We watched The Americans – Or, my husband did and I kind of had it on in the background while goofing around on my iPad, which happens a lot.

Sorry didn’t mean to reply meant to comment . . . With one hand while feeding a bottle. 😉

LOL, no worries.

Oooh! I think I started this and then fell off… Is this the one where she’s a professional pianist or am I mixing things up again? If it’s the same show, I LOVED the house. Perhaps it’s time to return to it.
J
Definitely the same show Maya!

Yes please to one season shows! With that cast it almost doesn’t matter what it’s about, you know it’s going to be good. Adding this to the watch list!
J
I felt the same way!

I like when it’s only one season (or two). If I like it, I become obsessed and if there are 8 seasons or so, it’s overwhelming.
J
Yeah, it can feel overwhelming if it goes on forever.
