Tough Times

You know times are tough when Sunday morning doesn’t find me with my face in the funnies, but instead in the ‘newsy’ part of the paper, trying to suss out the facts between all of the opinions on the bailout.

When instead of my hilarious “Wait Wait, Don’t Tell Me” podcast, I first need to listen to “Planet Money” and see what the hell is going on.

When I talk to Grandma and she starts railing about the stupid bailout, and how much money it’s going to cost.

It’s not that I’m not usually political, but I’m not usually that involved in economics.  There’s something about never having much money laying around the house that makes it hard to get too excited about what the millionaires are doing with theirs, you know?

But lately, I’m addicted to the economy.  Know what?  I don’t like it.

Me too. It’s like the real estate obsession when we were trying to sell our house — except now we’re trying to figure out how much we’re going to get screwed instead of dreaming of “trading up” to a bigger place.

At this very moment, Eric is on the phone with his father talking about the bail out, our mortgage, his money and what he needs to do with it, blah blah blah.
