The “What’s In Your House” Meme

What kind of soap is in your bathtub shower right now?
Dove pro-age body wash, which pretty much tells you WAY too much about me.

Do you have any watermelon in your refrigerator?
Not currently.

What would you change about your living room?
I wish it were larger. We have an extremely small living room.

Are the dishes in your dishwasher clean or dirty?
Dirty. Just emptied the clean ones, and put in the 3 things that were in the sink.

What is in your fridge?
Leftover gnocci, eggs, bread, butter, condiments, water, milk, yogurt, wine, apples, broccoli, strawberries. Film.

White or wheat bread?
Wheat. I like sourdoah too, but you didn’t ask.

What is on top of your refrigerator?
An appitizer serving platter that blends in and so you don’t really notice it up there.

What color or design is on your shower curtain?
Our shower curtain is clear. We used to have one that was very pretty with lots of colors and kind of an Indian pattern on it, but that shows too much personality for a home on the market, so now we’re very neutral around here.

How many plants are in your home?
Two live ones. One big one in our living room, and one little pepper plant in the kitchen. There are several fake ones around, due to staging for a quick sale. 😉

Is your bed made right now?
Of course. I’m anal about that.

Comet or Soft Scrub?
Comet.

Is your closet organized?
Somewhat. Moreso than usual, due to the staging.

Can you describe your flashlight?
Yes, but why?

Do you drink out of glass or plastic most of the time at home?
Glass for water, milk, or wine. Plastic for my diet coke.

Do you have iced tea made in a pitcher right now?
No. That’s pretty rare around here.

If you have a garage, is it cluttered?
No garage. I have dreams of an organized garage when we move, though.

Curtains or blinds?
Blinds. And curtains as well, in the living room and Maya’s room. The rest of the rooms, just blinds.

How many pillows do you sleep with?
Two. One for when I sleep on my side, and a different one for when I sleep on my tummy.

Do you sleep with any lights on at night?
No. There’s a pretty bright light outside our window, so we don’t need a nightlight to see our way to the bathroom.

How often do you vacuum?
Every day or so, but only because of the trying to sell thing.

Standard toothbrush or electric?
Standard, but my dentist thinks I would have less gum recession if I used electric. I may switch.

What color is your toothbrush?
Pinkish, I think.

Do you have a welcome mat on your front porch?
Yes.

What is in your oven right now?
The racks that live there.

Is there anything under your bed?
Plenty. I’m not sure what anymore.

Chore you hate doing the most?
Ironing, I guess.

What retro items are in your home?
Erm…my great grandfather’s shotgun is usually here, though right now for the sale, it’s in storage. My grandmothers “Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread” plate is also put away.

Do you have a separate room that you use as an office?
Not in this house. Hence the moving desire, since I work from home.

How many mirrors are in your home?
More than there used to be, since our stager person added two, and we put in mirrored doors on our bedroom closets. If the sliding doors on a closet have three mirrored doors, would that count as 1 big mirror, or 3? That could really change the answer.

What color are your walls?
Most of them are a tan, called “Wise Owl”. That’s the color you see in the kitchen photo, above, in contrast to the white cabinets. Our bedroom is a yellow, called “Straw”, which was tempered with white. Maya’s room is a Sage Green. The bathrooms are still white.

What does your home smell like right now?
The vanilla scented candle I burned when some folks came through to see our place. Makes it smell like cookies in here. 🙂

Favorite candle scent?
Vanilla, as long as it’s not too strong.

What kind of pickles (if any) are in your refrigerator right now?
Hamburger pickles at least. Maybe more.

What color is your favorite Bible?
Red.

Ever been on your roof?
No way.

Do you own a stereo?
Yes. Definately. That’s a must have around here.

How many TVs do you have?
One. Is it wrong of me that I’m considering getting a tiny one for the kitchen in the new place? I could watch Curtis Stone while I cook.

How many house phones?
Two. One in our bedroom, one in the dining room. I guess we’ll want one in our office when we move, too. Boy, this moving thing sure takes up a lot of my brain capacity lately, doesn’t it?

Do you have a housekeeper?
No. We did get our place professionally cleaned before we put it on the market, and I’ve toyed with the idea of having someone come once or twice a month, but I’ve never really done anything about it.

What style do you decorate in?
Hand me downs and things that people have given us, in the past. We’re working towards finding our own style, however. Kind of modern contemporary, I would say.

Do you like solid colors or prints in furniture?
I like both. Mostly solid, I guess.

Is there a smoke detector in your home?
Yes.

In case of fire, what are the items in your house which you’d grab if you only could make one quick trip?
My family (Husband, Daughter, Dog), Ted’s computer, and our photo albums.
