The Album Cover Project

Battle of Arkinholm
(cover art created for me by my friend Darin)

Do you Facebook?  I Facebook.  Through Facebook, I’ve reconnected with some old high school friends (wait, that didn’t come out right…they’re not old…or wait, maybe we’re all old, I’m not sure.)  Anyway, I’ve reconnected with some great guys that I knew in another lifetime, back when I was still trying to figure out who I was, and I was mostly shy and awkward and so on, and they were mostly friends of my brother, but let me hang around anyway.  One of these guys is Darin, who actually left High School before I started, so I didn’t know him quite as well as the others, but he is a great guy nonetheless.  I have fond memories of hanging out with him outside of school once or twice, and I still have a picture that he drew for me of a cool dragon. Darin tagged me in a meme that I’ve seen before in the blogging world, and I guess has now hit Facebook.  I gave it a try, but I don’t play well with photoshop (though actually we do have it, so I should have at least tried), so I did the absolute minimum on it, and he took it from there and made me a cover for my album, as it were.  Here  it is, and here are the rules for the meme:

The album cover project…..

1 – Go to “wikipedia.” Hit “random” or click http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first random wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.

2 – Go to “Random quotations” or click http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.

3 – Go to flickr and click on “explore the last seven days” or click
http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days
Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

4 – Use Photoshop or similar to put it all together.

5 – Post it with this text in the “caption” and TAG the friends you want to join in.

Special extra groovy side note is that back when I was obsessed with my family genealogy, I discovered that some people in my line think we are distantly related to the royal house of Stuart, that of Mary, Queen of Scots, (and there are others who say, no, can’t prove it, sorry).  And the King James of the Battle of Arkinholm was also related to the house of Stuart, being a direct ancestor of Mary Stuart.  How’s that for delicious, when the random wiki I got was perhaps maybe somehow related to my very distant ancestors?  Thanks, Darin, totally fun.
