I’m glad it’s Friday today. It’s a rainy day, for which I am thankful, because we NEED the rain. This has been our driest January since 1920 or something stupid like that. I hope we get lots more in the weeks to come. Even more importantly, snow, because California’s main water source is snow melt. Hmmm.
Today is the last day of the quarter for Maya, so they get out at noon. I’m working 1/2 day, and then we’re going to pick her up and go into San Francisco, and try again at the Academy of Sciences. We went on my birthday, but it was SO CROWDED that we couldn’t stand it. I’m thinking today we go with an organized plan of attack, and see if we can at least see a few things before we have to bail.
Maya’s going to a sleepover tonight, which will be nice…it’s a birthday party for a friend from school.
Sunday I’m going to Stockton to take Grandma and Aunt Flo to lunch. I’m thinking Red Lobster, as they both love scampi and the cheese toast or cheese bread or whatever it is. The Red Lobster there used to be kind of fancy, back in the day, 25 years ago when it opened. Now it just looks like it needs a remodel…getting kind of run down. That’s OK. I doubt they’ll be spending that kind of money on it in this economy. I was supposed to go in December, but Grandma ended up in the hospital. Thankfully she was fine, and so we’re ready to give it another try this weekend.
That’s it around here. Oh, tonight is BSG (I know, you don’t care. I’ve given up on trying to make you care.) Guess we’ll be taping that for Maya.
Happy Friday! Any weekend plans in your neck of the woods?

Making soup.
Pork stock. Vegetables. Beans. A pot simmering on the stove, warming the kitchen and the house and then my stomach.
Oh, and two dogs sitting and watching, politely, hoping that they might have some, too.
Drive carefully in the rain, J.

Sounds like a nice Friday for you! I think I’m going to go see Inkheart tonight. I loved the book, so hoping the movie is good. I ? Brendan Fraser anyway.

I TOTALLY care about BSG! OMG I could not believe who the fifth Cylon was. I was sort of bummed. But, I trust them to make it super-awesome.
I even entered into that KFC BSG giveaway thing because I WANT A BIG FRAKKIN BAG.
Hope you guys had a great day.
