Picture of the Day – Outside Sacre Coeur
First off, let me apologize for the inordinate use of the word ‘amazing’ in yesterday’s post. The fact that the croissant was delicious and perfectly prepared is not something to cause great surprise. You kind of expect that in France. It was lazy writing. I considered editing the post and finding some other adjectives, but decided to leave it as is.
I like this picture of a street musician and his cat, entertaining the tourists on the steps of Sacre Coeur. He’s even wearing a beret. The messy ‘No Entry’ sign on the door takes a bit from the picture, but I like his cat.

I like this picture, too. I noticed the beret right away, and he looks a little like Daniel Day-Lewis, only not as rail-thin.
So many things to catch your eye in France! If only there were a cat at his feet.

Oh, DDL! Your movie crush! I do see it in the eyes…

I even like the sign – it’s as if he’s from a different time, but then the sign reminds you of present. I like the juxtaposition.
J
NGS, I think the sign is growing on me, for just that reason.

Arriving here for the first time because of NaBloPoMo…and what great timing. How I love Sacré Coeur. Probably my favourite memories from my trip to Paris in 2019 were at Sacré Coeur. And what a great photo indeed!

Welcome, and thank you! Yes, Sacré Coeur is truly beautiful, and a charming neighborhood as well.

That’s a great photo. I am charmed and amazed. Paris is most unique.

Thanks Ally,
I was thinking about Paris while walking Mulder this morning (I think about Paris a lot), and deciding if I would go back, or try to see a different part of the world, or even of France. There are valid arguments either way, but J’adore Paris, so likely, the answer would be an enthusiastic yes. Ideal would be a long vacation like I just had, or even longer (say, a month) so I could slow down and get to know the neighborhoods. Maybe see the Champaign region, or the Loire valley, both of which are supposed to be beautiful.

J
Thank you San, it was a beautiful day!
