Packaging…
I went to Target the other day, and I picked up some contact lens solution. Pretty good deal, right? It’s not buy one get one free, but the pricing was great, and it LOOKED like buy one, get one free. See how both of the containers are equal in size? Nice. See Ted in the background? See how happy he is? Also nice.
Then, I picked up some toothpaste, and look, a FREE tube of toothpaste comes with the one you pay for. Gotta love that. The way this is packaged, even though the front of the box clearly says that the FREE tube is going to be 4.2 oz, compared with the 7.8 oz of the original toothpaste, I kind of expected a bigger tube of toothpaste in the FREE box. I know, I got suckered in by a marketing genius. Perhaps Mom101. (She’s the only advertising type that I ‘know’.)
Imagine my surprise when I opened the FREE box, and found a smaller box inside…
With a little tube of toothpaste! I was shocked! Not horrified, really, because what do you expect for FREE, but still…

J-Happy Blogaversary! Keeping at it diligently, as you have done, is no simple feat. Sometimes posting material on the Net seems like “spitting in the ocean”. I’ve been able to find some encouragement in the last line of Longfellow’s THE PSALM OF LIFE: “Learn to labor and to wait.”
In the meantime how DO they manage to get so little toothpaste into a tube that feels SO heavy?

I least there weren’t a series of smaller and smaller boxes in there! You know, you keep opening one after another until you find a tube of toothpaste that the size of dentist office sample. 🙂

I personally love all of the extra packaging used for such small items. I mean I get it, sorta, but does my value pack of dental floss really need to come in a package that is approx. 1′ x 1′?
Did the value pack of contact solution require a whole additional box? Perhaps the box is more environmentally friendly then say, plastic wrapping them together. I dunno.

Yes, Happy Blogaversary and Belated Thanksgiving.
Ooooooooo, those suckas! And the wasteful packaging is ALWAYS a big turnoff for me. And I see you use Colgate, good choice. 😉

Still if you paid the same price for one and got one and a half that’s still good 😉 Happy blogaversary to us all 🙂 I didn’t even realize, which is strange for me who lives a lot in the past. haha

Seems not only deceiving but incredibly wasteful!
