Meme Monday – Golden Birthday

April 6th was Mulder’s ‘Golden Birthday’. Your ‘golden birthday’, also known as your ‘champagne birthday’, is when your age matches the day of the month you were born, so Mulder turned 6 on the 6th. Due to the lifespan of dogs, and poor planning on the part of those creating our calendar, a lot of dogs never reach their golden birthday. Anyway, we decided to celebrate by giving Mulder his own hamburger for dinner. He loves hamburgers, and he loves carrots. Lucky for you, Ted took a video. If you have a dog in your life, do they took treats to their bed to eat? Genevieve used to do this too. Hilarious. Mulder LOVED his burger and carrots, and the following day was wondering what was with the kibble.

    Mulder is gorgeous! I’m so glad he enjoyed his birthday burger. I do wonder why dogs take their goodies off to their beds lol.

      Martha, yes, he is a very handsome boy, isn’t he? I do not know why he takes his treat to his bed, but anything that takes a moment of chewing, as opposed to kibble, he takes there. Maybe it’s his safe space?

    He is SO SO SO FURRY! What a comfort he would be to me here in the depths of a NEO winter. I’m glad he enjoyed his birthday treats. He was quite mannerly and dainty with them, too, not wolfing them down on the spot like my granddog Zydrunas would have done.

      Nance, he IS so furry! And unlike our last dog, Genevieve, he SHEDS CONSTANTLY, which means our house is always covered in hair. Sigh. He was indeed mannerly about it, wasn’t he? I think you should make Z a burger and test him out. Don’t forget the cheese.

    I love how Mulder licked off the cheese from the burger before chomping down on the burger. What a great dog, so polite. Happiest of birthdays to him.
