I Voted

We just got back from voting…It felt ridiculously good to see the names of a woman and a minority on that ballot. No matter which way it goes, today was a good day. I can honestly say that I have never, NEVER felt this way about voting before.

We took Maya into the ballot with us, so she could watch history being made. A good day.

Updated to add, I have not forgotten that Carol Moseley Braun and Al Sharpton ran last time. He’s a bit of a freak, and neither of them had much of a chance. This is the first time things have gotten so far as to say that clearly, either a minority or a woman will be the candidate of the Democratic Party. Amen.

This post gave me goosebumps! Very cool to see history being made. And great that you included Maya! I voted via absentee ballot. Now we get to be glued to CNN to see how this all turns out. 🙂

Starshine, that’s one of the things I love about you…though I suspect we have very different political leanings, you still get goosebumps from the history of what is going on, rather than the shudders. 🙂

It’s all pretty amazing! I have to add one more African-American candidate to the list: Alan Keyes. He’s a Republican and according the state of CA’s Sec of State, he got 9,265 or 0.4 % of the vote in yesterday’s primary.

I didn’t know Keyes was running either? I like him. He is one of the most articulate candidates I’ve seen. He ran in 96, and 2000 too!
