Her Many Faces
Her Many Faces ~ Nicci Cloke
Katherine (Katie) Cole is a waitress at a super exclusive men’s club where 4 very powerful men die of poisoning one night, and she is accused. Her Many Faces is a phycological mystery where the question of ‘did she do it’ is examined by 5 men.
- Her father adores her, and calls her Kit-Kat. Obviously she is innocent in his eyes.
- Her high school friend calls her K.C.
- Some jackass she had an affair with calls her Wildcat.
- Her lawyer calls her Katherine.
- The reporter covering the trial goes for the very dramatic name, ‘Killer Kate’, because it sells papers.
This was an effective way to tell the story, none of it from Katie’s POV. The men who consider her case all have their own opinions and agendas, none are neutral to her possible innocence or guilt. I liked this, that they were all unreliable to a point, and I didn’t know who or what to believe. This was a fun read, recommended by Engie. I listened to the audiobook, which was narrated by different actors, which I enjoyed. Recommended.

I’ve heard of this book- maybe from Engie. It does sound interesting, but I don’t know if I’m up for the multiple POVs. The audiobook sounds like it was done well.

If you’re not into multiple POVs, this is not the book for you.

I just got this on Libby! No wait! I definitely bookmarked it after Engie mentioned it, but hearing that you liked listening to it helped me pull the trigger (I am an audiobook girl). Thanks for the recommendation, as always!

It was no wait for me as well, which was great!

I do like multiple POVs – I don’t do audio books much, but that would be a cool way to experience this book.

I enjoy audiobooks!

It sounds promising. I have no issue with multiple point of views.

I feel like I recently read about this book elsewhere… on Allison’s blog, maybe? It sounds VERY much in my wheelhouse, so I am looking forward to it! Audiobook is my preference, and it sounds like a good way to experience this one.

Engie posted about it, and it was ready right away from Libby, so I dove right in!
