Friday Five Meme
(image stolen from here)
I found this little love/hate meme over at Caribousmom, and it seemed like a good Monday Meme idea. Then I decided I couldn’t wait until Monday. Oh well. Since there are Five love/hates, I’ll pretend like it’s a Friday Five, k?
I love to eat: almost any flavor of potato chips, esp. those Kettle ones. Beets with Bermuda Triangle cheese. Ripe tomatoes. Crab. Oh, so may yummy things. (gosh, I advertise for these Bermuda Triangle folks enough…don’t you think they’d send me some for free? Please?)
I hate to eat: celery and mayonnaise, though I’m trying to get past the celery one. Mayo is actually fine in deviled eggs and a tiny bit on sandwiches, that kind of thing. I haven’t found any way to get past my hatred of liver, though. But honestly, I haven’t been trying very hard, either.
I love to go: to San Francisco for the day, with Ted and Maya, to play and eat yummies. Or Monterey. Anywhere near the ocean is great, anywhere with a great variety of shops and theaters and restaurants is great.
I hate to go: to endless meetings about boring, boring crap.
I love it when: I can take a nice long walk in the rain (I love the sound of the raindrops on my umbrella), and come home, and if I’m wet, then take a shower, and sit by the fire with a glass of wine. What’s not to like about that?
I hate it when: Idiots and/or evil people ruin my day. Don’t pretend this hasn’t happened to you. It happens to us all.
I love to see: Horses running in a field. Pure beauty. Hummingbirds darting around. A warm fire in the fireplace.
I hate to see: A big pile of clothes that need to be ironed. Blech. Or a big patch of dog barf on a newly cleaned carpet. Double blech.
I hate to hear: People fighting. Ugh. Especially if one of them is me.
I love to hear: Laughter. Sometimes Ted and I will both be upstairs on the computers, and Maya’s downstairs watching Spongebob, and she cracks up, and we both smile that same happy smile, enjoying her laugh.

You can also put in there, “I hate to hear our kid barfing because of stomache flu.”

I like this meme! Perfect for a Friday ๐ I hate celery! And, believe me, I have tried several times to like it, but it’s not happening. I’m one of those weird people who love liver, though. Since I could eat solid food, I’ve loved it.
Have a great weekend!

Anything to do with barf and liver will set me off. I like celery though. ๐
Autumn's Mom
This is a nice way to end the friday

What a wonderful meme. Love your perspective ๐
I like celery…but just not cooked! If I put it in my Cream of Broccoli and Cauliflower soup, it’s okay, but otherwise, cooked celery makes me gag.

That’s a great meme! I’m craving these chips you’ve been harping about forever! I think I’ll have to make a USA trip soon.
I love your kind of rain too… if the street isn’t too busy, I would be strolling with my umbrella… then go home for a hot shower.. and oh yes – the wine. Sweet.

Sweet about Maya’s laughter.
I may have to do this meme next week.

That was a great list J.
I love Liver Pudding!?!?!

I’ve found a good way to eat celery. Take a raw stalk, and dip it in peanut butter! That’s the only way I can eat it!
Maybe I’ll try dipping my “liver pudding” with it? NOT!!!!

Oh Jimmy, Liver Pudding sounds just horrid. We lived in Philly for two years, and I could never bring myself to try their regional version, scrapple. Sounded too much like ‘garbage’ to me. ๐
Celery with peanut butter is gross, though I’m starting to not omit the celery in soups. I like peanut butter and iceberg lettuce sandwiches, though, which I imagine would be similar…peanut butter and a crisp fresh crunch, but none of the nasty celery taste. ๐
Maya's Granny
I love this meme. I think I’ll do it one Friday soon.
Maya’s laughter has to be one of the loveliest sounds in the world. A reason for the existence of Sponge Bob.

I love liver, but since I am the only one, I never get to make it, and no restaurants ever have it on the menu. The only time I like rain is when it is in lieu of snow, or when I’m in bed and can hear it on the rooftop.
