Day 2 – Mougins and Cannes
Something weird happened with yesterday’s post (including the fact that I thought I had saved it, not published it, but I guess while I do not have jet lag, my blog clearly does). I will try to edit that post, but my first attempt failed miserably, so am just forging ahead.
Today was day 2 or 3 of our trip, since you lose a day traveling, I don’t know. Or you could say day 1 of our vacation, since it was our first full day in France. We are in a little town near Cannes, called Mougins. Again, my computer or blog is being weird, so this is the only picture I could select from the many that I took today. This is the view from the old (medieval?) village of Mougins, which had charming tiny streets and cobblestones, and lots of artists selling their wares. We went to a very small antiquities museum, and had a lovely lunch, then walked back to our hotel. It was about 7 miles of walking, including our search for grocery stores and banks and bakeries this morning. We got cleaned up after that and went to Cannes, so we could dip our feet in the Mediterranean Sea. Cannes was beautiful and we enjoyed looking at the shops and restaurants and people.
Tomorrow will be Nice, we think, where we will go to another museum, perhaps a cathedral, and are hoping to have a Salade Nicoise for lunch. I do want to post here every day for you…I hope my blog cooperates!

What a view! That sky is lovely.
How beautiful was the Mediterranean!? I do hope you were able to have what you were craving for lunch.
