Dang.
First Kucinich, now Edwards. The candidates who had the most to say to the more progressive elements in the Democratic party have dropped out. I can only hope that their influence lives on, and that both Obama and Clinton take some of it to heart, and do more than ‘talk the talk’.
Getting tired of politics already. I mean, so few people have voted, and this is indicative of the entire country?
Bah. Stupid primaries.

Well, the word is that Edwards wants to be the “king maker” by throwing support to the front runner of his choice. I’m not sure how much influcene he’s going to have but like you said, let’s hope he’s able to keep the progressive elements of the Democratic party alive.

I was really disappointed to hear Edwards dropping out. I’m sick of this shit as well 🙁

Damn! I hate that the media can determine who is worth covering and who isn’t and influence the primaries this much.

You are better than CNN, J~. I didn’t know he had dropped out until I read it here. Good work, Scoop! 😀

Shite. He was the candidate I liked the best. I second Maya’s Granny, the media completely ignored him because he wasn’t a woman and he wasn’t African American. While I understand the historical precedent set by Hillary and Barack, I think Edwards was still the best candidate with the most comprehensive, well-laid out ideas.
Boo.

Now I’m really afraid. McCain looks like the only Republican candidate who can beat Obama or Clinton and the world is still too hung up on gender and race to offer either an edge over him…even though I really think McCain is too old.

This is why we need a national primary day. Enough already with a handful of states deciding for the rest of us who we will be permitted to vote for. The field spends an enormous amount of money on just a few places and then goes broke, leaving the media slobbering and pontificating, while the vast majority of the electorate get to pick among the leftovers. It’s just plain wrong. ONE DAY, ONE PRIMARY. It’s time.

I was afraid of this. Once again the Democrats are likely to nominate someone who cannot carry the country. Please see my post on this matter at http://www.perfervidnotations.blogspot.com
Thanks, Will

So who is the lesser of two evils to you? Who do you want to vote for now?

I cannot tell you how hard I cried over this. Although, I just did. Edwards was my husband’s candidate. Elizabeth Edwards is one of my personal heroes and I was really hoping he would pull it out. He is appealing to people across the board, and we do have to think electability. My husband would be so sad, and disappointed. Just as I am.

I hear ya. I’m at the point where it’s like, well, they’re at least better than the Republicans. Mah.

Really bummed about Edwards too. I’m glad, though, for his wife. She’s facing another battle against cancer. Being first lady and doing that would be crazy.
