Bitacle?
So I’ve heard about this Bitacle thing…you go to the site, and they have content from people’s blogs there. Here’s what I got when I searched on my url: http://en.bitacle.org/blogs/blogsearch/jellyjulesÂ
Mostly what I’ve read is on people’s blogs, saying, if you’re reading this elsewhere, don’t. It’s stolen. This content is only valid if you’re reading it on my site.
What does this mean? I mean, I know it’s an example of someone stealing content, and putting it up on their site, but they’re not claiming to have authored the content, so I’m not sure what the difference is between this and, say, bloglines. It’s not plagarism if they link to my site, right?
Forgive my ignorance. I don’t use bloglines either, so I’m just basically clueless.

Well, I think it has more to do with the fact that they are using your content to enrich themselves via their ads.
And, I have heard that if you “limit” your feed to only a partial one, they have a harder time.

Yes, if you go to the “aggregates” section, you will find that they put up your contents with ads, and also use a “digg it” button for their own promotional purposes with your content.

Yeah, I saw that there’s an easy way to stop it on WordPress. I was just wondering if it’s really that different from other “scraping” services, you know?
I tried going to the aggregate, and I couldn’t find anything there at all with a search for “Jellyjules”. Hmmm.

I’ve been watching this topic, too. I don’t think that bitacle is able to pick up content from blogger, but I suppose that’ll change.

I changed on Bloglines to short feed to make it more difficult for Bitacle.
From what I understands, they’re profiting from advertising on our blogs without doing any work.
And without our permission.

My blogger content is on bitacle, so probably if you don’t publish an RSS feed you are safe.

I’m totally in the dark. I just went to Bitacle and did a search on my blogspot address….my whole blog content is on there.
What’s the deal? Will someone help me figure this out?
