Boy! I’d better lay off of the shortcomings-of-education issue. There DOES seem to be an excess of “dry” subject matter, and too much homework,in today’s schools.
But, coming from an era where physical discipline was rampant, and students were actually scared to death of many teachers, today’s “touchy-feely”, no-kid-should-be-embarassed-in-front-of -his/her-peers environment seems to lie at the root of the “problem”.
When Pony Storm was in elementary school, there was no “show and tell”. The teachers did ALL the showing, and ALL the telling. And today I sound EXACTLY like one of those insufferable old geezers that I never listened to when I was a kid.
