Misc. Linky Love

Nadine Saacks
Meandering around the blogosphere, dipping into worlds unknown, I come across some things too groovy not to share. So here we are, I’m sharing them. Because I’m nice like that.

1. Check out Ms. Mama’s bathroom. I’m seriously impressed, and Ted and I now want to pay for her and Snowflake to come out and give us a cool room like this sometime. Seriously cool.

2. Ally Bean has a groovy sign in her ‘hood. Check it out.

3. Curiosity Killer has a cautionary tale about what people do when they find out they only have a short time to live…and then find out that it was a mistake…

4. This isn’t a blog, but still, I have to pimp my Aussie friend, Nadine Saacks. She has an exhibit coming up at the Glen Street Gallery(the link doesn’t currently mention her work, but it should soon, and the picture above is from the flier she emailed me), in Belrose (which I assume is near Sydney), so if you’re in that area between May 15th and June 3rd, go buy some art from her. One of these days, I’ll get down there and do that myself, I hope. We knew Nadine back in our days in Philly, and she’s so multi-talented I don’t know where to start. Here’s some more of her stuff. And some etchings. She also does photography.

5. I can’t wait for Jess Riley’s book to be published, because her writing cracks me up, but in the short term, this post made me laugh…esp. the bits from college freshmen journal entries…

6. I wanted to twitter you all, every one of you, yesterday…we had a realtor call and want to show the place (!!!), and so I took Gen out for a walk so we wouldn’t be here when they came by. We found ourselves at 7-11, where I discovered that they now sell Baked Cheetos, which turn your tongue Shrek green when you eat them. 1st, why does this disturb me so much? I mean, that toxic orange crap isn’t exactly NATURAL, so what is it about the green that makes me say, “uh, no thanks, I’ll stick with my traditional crunchy, thanks.”? 2nd, guess I should have bought them, because look, someone’s selling them on eBay. Who knew? But the thing that made me want to twitter you to begin with was the thought of you all getting a little message that said, “Hey, I’m at 7-11, and they’re playing the disco version of Close Encounters of the Third Kind!” I mean, who wouldn’t want to be interrupted in the middle of an important meeting/lovely afternoon nap/whatever with THAT important bit of info?
