Lazy Ass Blog Post

Lazy Ass post today because I’ve been busy and I can’t come up with any ideas and it’s NaBloPoMo and if I find 10 minutes today, I want to come visit you. So…the other day I stopped at a local bookstore and snapped the picture of a table of books near the front of the store. So my blog post idea is for you to look at the pile of books, and tell me if you have read any of these books, and if so, which you recommend. The fact that the picture is so bad is part of the challenge.

If that’s not interesting, look at the line of people in front of the bookstore for Pokémon cards.

This “lazy ass blog post” is one of the first things I read this morning and I laughed out loud! As an avid reader I am happy to scour the photo of the table of books and tell you what I’ve read. Here’s my list:
Atmosphere, Dream Count, and James (I recommend them all), and I have Susan Choi’s Flashlight, Buckeye, The Emperor of Gladness, and A Guardian and a Thief on my TBR list. I had not heard of the The True, True Story of Raja the Gullible, and after checking out what it’s about, I’ve added it to my list.

I didn’t find this post lazy at all. I found it funny, entertaining and I’ve just added what looks to be another exciting read to my list – thank you!

I have read those three also, and definitely recommend them. My husband is reading James right now and really enjoying it. I keep seeing Buckeye but haven’t looked into it at all yet.

I’ve read some of the authors (Allende, Lee, Pynchon) but none of the books, as far as I can tell. This reminds me I’ve had a book by Allende on the bookshelf for ages and even though i like her, I never seem to get around to it. Maybe this will be my reminder.

Oooh! May We Feed the King! I loved, loved, LOVED that book. As you probably know, I will NOT read anything else by Harper Lee because To Kill A Mockingbird, period. My Number One Book Of All Time, Forever.

I just read a story in my newsfeed today about a man who was arrested because he left his sleeping baby in the car in order to stand in a Pokemon Card line. THERE ARE SOME PEOPLE WHO SHOULD NEVER, EVER BECOME A PARENT.

Nance, I went to the bookstore to buy May We Feed the King, I’m looking forward to reading it if/when I ever finish The Odyssey. Thank you for the recommendation!

I love this nice little glimpse into your thoughts! Not lazy – just fun! I don’t see any books I’ve read on that table. I can’t imagine waiting in a line for Pokemon cards!! To each their own!

What IS IT with the Pokemon cards?!

I like this post idea. Fruit Fly is a book I just downloaded via Libby the other day, but I haven’t started it. I bought Buckeye a while ago and haven’t started that, either. Maybe I should do a post of all the books I’ve purchased this year but haven’t read and make you choose. Pretty sure I will read the Susan Choi (Flashlight??) although the book of hers I read last made me grumpy because I disliked it so much.

James was so, so good. It was picked by our library as a book for the entire county to read, and then the author came and talked to us, which was a lot of fun.
