Meet Me in Another Life
Meet Me in Another Life ~ Catriona Silvey
Thora and Santi meet under a clock tower in central Cologne, and quickly feel a connection. They will be friends, they think, but then there is a tragic accident.
Santi is a teacher who dreams of the stars, so when his young student, Thora, says she wants to be an astronaut, he does everything he can to encourage her.
Santi is an infant, and Thora is close friends with his mother.
Thora and Santi are lovers.
Santi and Thora are enemies.
Again and again, Thora and Santi come together in Cologne, near the clock tower, and eventually they start remembering these past lives, and wondering why this is happening, is there a way out of this endless cycle?
I loved this book. The characters were funny and smart, the premise clever but not too clever. I thought at first it was going to be a ‘road not taken’ kind of book, but it’s not that at all. I won’t say more because I don’t want to give it away. Highly recommended.

Sounds interesting. Do you know the Erykah Badu song “Next Lifetime”? It kind of reminds me of that.

I wasn’t familiar with it, but just listened to it. Nice 90s vibe!

My copy is on its way! I’m very intrigued by this book, and now I also want to reread The Time Traveller’s Wife. My TBR pile is already 3 deep, and I get The New Yorker, too. It’s like having a part-time job.

I was just considering The Time Traveler’s Wife yesterday, because I was wondering if I will read it again, or if I should give it away. I think I may read it again, though my TBR is huge.

Love your description and now I want to read it. LOL at Nance’s “It’s like having a part-time job.” Truly.
It reminds me a bit of Kate Atkinsons’ _Life After Life_ which I absolutely adored.

Oh, I haven’t heard of that one…

Oh I need to read this. I have seen this somewhere already I think.
The cover reminds me of The Ligh we Lost by Jill Santopolo

I posted the cover on one of my Friday Randomness posts, maybe that’s where you saw it?

Like a prior commenter, this reminds me of “Life After Life” which I loved and wanted to discuss with people. Sadly, my Book Club never chose it.

Well now I need to read that one.
