Bad Art Fundraiser
Sorry for the late notice friends, but if you are at all interested in having a custom made ‘bad art’ digital portrait of your pet, The Friends of Animal Services in Oakland, CA is having a fundraiser. You donate $35 for one portrait, or $50 for two, then they send you a link via email for you to upload a picture. They will then assign your photo to one of their artists, who will send you a custom made copy. Be patient, they’re busy, so it could take a while.
This is the picture I am submitting, Mulder in May of 2023. You have until this Wednesday to contribute if you are so inclined!
Note, I just submitted this and already I am second guessing myself and wishing I had submitted this photo instead. It’s a little blurry though, so I’ll stick with the one I had (and besides, I don’t know if I could switch now.)
Update – I just love his silly face too much in that second photo, so I emailed them and asked if they would switch it. Whichever one I get will be great!

I definitely prefer the first photo; Mulder is smiling and looks eager and friendly. I know all about second guessing oneself though!

I love the first one, but the second one is so silly, it seems to fit the ‘bad art’ theme more.

This is a genuis idea for a fundraiser. Those pics of Mudler are so sweet, well – and silly. But I hope you’re thrilled with whatever the artist creates.

We lost two cats in the past 5 years (one in 2020 and one in 2022) and I’d consider this, but my cousin does pet portraits and she has expressed interest in doing one for us. I hope your portrait turns out well. He looks like a very friendly dog.

Agreed! They emailed me back and said they would use the second one, but of course something could fall through the cracks and it could end up being the first. Either way is fine with me!
