My Life in Music
I saw this on Wendy’s website, and I thought, No, I could never think of enough songs…but then I decided to take a walk at lunchtime, and listen to my beloved iPod, and lo and behold, I came up with a bunch of songs to fill it in. Kind of fun to search around and think about what song is perfect for what situation, that kind of thing. I’ve changed some of the categories, and made it a bit more personal. ๐

What a great idea! You’ve done such a great job of relating songs to the categories – I am now inspired to try something like this myself!
Love the Ob La Di, Ob La Da song selection for childhood – that would be mine, too and MMMM, by Crash Test Dummies brought back such happy memories! ๐
Liz Phair’s great too!
Nancy
Lots of good picks. I really want to do this one too!
Autumn's Mom
That was pretty cool J. I may have to mull this one over the weekend and see if I can come up with anything. Maybe I’ll put a spin on it 70’s style!

i can’t even imagine how much brain power you must have squeezed out to come up with this list!!! way impressive.
Wendy
That was AWESOME, J! Oh and so love that MMMMMM Song by Crash Test Dummies and haven’t thought of it in years! love me some Carole King too – great choices – see, i knew you could do it!!!
J
I’m not so into Carole King, but I lived in SF during the earthquake of ’89, and that pretty much sums it up. Not that I DON’T like CK, but I just haven’t listened to her in years. Good rainy day music, I think. ๐

Totally unrelated: I had a very strange, vivid dream last night that I read the SF Chron, and one of your blog posts was on the FRONT PAGE, and I thought, “Wow, I know this person. Or at least I know her from her blog.”
My weird dreams sometimes come true (see my Halloween post). So… be careful out there!!!
J
L, that’s TOO funny that you dreamed that. ๐ My husband thinks maybe I’ll be a writer someday, since I enjoy blogging so much. But the chron? Too cool.
MIM
J, we have the same “walk of shame” song!
J
Too funny, MIM, because it’s not a song where she’s sounding very ‘shamed’, is it? But with the panties being in the bottom of her purse, whatever else kind of song could it be? ๐
Piece of Work
Okay, but now I want to hear the story about your Dad.
Love your picks, that was amazing. It would take me YEARS to come up with all those!
