Desire…

Is it wrong that this knife is more tempting to me than jewelry or clothes? (Update at 10:30am…Ooh…I just had a thought…if I had this knife, I could make tuna tartar! Drool indeed!)

And then there’s this. Drool.

I think I may start saving my money, and get the real deal, just what I want, perfect knife and dutch oven. But it might be awhile, because they aren’t cheap, and I don’t want a Target knock off. Why wasn’t I born rich?

Absolutely LOVE the knife. Lots of chopping goes on here in the Chaos. Don’t think I cook enough to drop the dough on the dutch oven, but i could justify the knife. Oh yes…I could.

I like quality stuff in the kitchen..but sometimes I’m too cheap. I did find some Henkel knives at Marshalls. I loves to chop. And also to beat meat with a tenderizer. Great way to get the aggression out.

I was at Sur La Table not too long ago, and I saw this Le Creuset Dutch Oven on sale for like, 20 bucks, and I got all excited until I realized it had no lid! Thus, the great price. Sigh…

Donna, I’m not sure I cook enough for the dutch oven either…but I might…to have something that can so easily go from stove top to oven, that conducts heat so well, that will last forever and still look pretty…sigh.

But the knife is clearly first on my list. Clearly. I went to Williams Sonoma and checked out all of their knives, and that was the one that I really liked to hold and feel in my hand. Drool again.

AM, cheapness is my problem here as well. It’s hard to stomach the idea of spending that much. But as my cheap ass stuff starts falling apart and it’s time for yet another set of knives or pots, I start to see the wisdom in spending more the first time and getting it right.

Gina, I might have cried if I had been there. Or rolled my eyes. Not sure which.

J, if you HAD the dutch oven, you’d USE it. I found my Le Creuset at a TJ Maxx for half price and snarfed it up immediately. I use it constantly to make all soups, stews, and pot roasts. Its even cooking temperature is heavenly. And remember, they come in all sizes, too. I also shopped online and found lots of great prices before my retail deal showed up unexpectedly. Now that I have it, I can’t imagine how I managed without it.

And who needs jewelry? Feh. Gimme good kitchen stuff every time.

Ohhhhh, that’s eye candy! But, I wouldn’t want to buy them for myself, I would want someone to buy them for me 😉

Ohhhhhhhh! I am soooooooo with you on this, J! I much prefer kitchen and home stuff than jewelry and clothes! LOL! I have been drooling over my Dad’s dutch oven. That thing is AMAZING! Dutch oven’s are pretty pricey, but my Dad got his in Chinatown (in Toronto) and it was MUCH cheaper (and he got a very good quality one).

Funny how at some point in life we start getting all a quiver over home accessories. I myself have an appliance lust that is terribly unreasonable and suprising. lately, towels have been a source of many ohhh and ahhs…I actually don’t get that excited over clothes any more…how weird is that?
