If All of the ‘Cool Kids’ Jumped off of a Bridge…

Would you?

Apparently, for me, the answer is sadly, yes. I had no intention of joining NaBloPoMo this year. Just a few weeks ago, I was considering giving up blogging, wondering if I had anything left to say. My hiatus may have only lasted 6 or 7 hours, but it was real in my head and heart during those long hours. 😉

So, when I saw that it was time again for National Blog Posting Month, with its goal of posting at least once a day, every day, during the month of November, I thought, um, that kind of goes against my new blogging philosophy, my “I have a life” philosophy, that people and books and going outside from time to time are more important than the blog. That there are trees changing colors to see, puddles to stomp in or dodge, depending on what shoes you’re wearing, bunnies and puppies and kittens and…oh, what the hell was I talking about again? I don’t know either. Oh, yeah, NaBloPoMo. Generally, posting every day is no big stretch for me. If nothing else, I can put up a recipe or a joke, right? But lately I’ve been a bit less interested in posting every day, and more interested in posting ‘when I feel like it’ (which translates into every day, almost, but feels different). So, I wasn’t interested in joining this year. Until I went over to Cherry’s blog, and saw the cool badge she had. Looked kinda like this one:

and then I clicked it, and saw how sophisticated this has become…I mean, you have your own page? You can make your blog posts appear over there? You can have friends and customize and so on? Sigh. OK, I need me some of that action. So yeah, I’m in. One post a day during the month of November. I refuse to be held responsible for the quality of content, however. If the pressure is on, and I’m busy trying to sell my condo or get ready for Thanksgiving or deal with year end tax stuff for work, you may see some crap around these parts. I apologize in advance.

Maybe I’ll take next November off from blogging entirely. Ya think?

Way to go joining in! I haven’t even thought about it as I’m not an every day blogger this year. Last year was a different story.

Good luck and enjoy. I know I will because I like reading your posts everyday.

I’ll be reading….whatever you come up with. Your posts are always interesting, so no need to apologize. Way to go, J. You can do it! You can do it!:)

Your custom NaBloPoMo page is pretty impressive! I like the layout and the links they provided.

You like these kind of challenges, so this should be fun for you…right? 🙂

A blog a day sounds easy but sometimes the brain freezes and then it gets really hard!!!
Way to go on signing up. It should be easy for you…:)
This would be the first time I would be reading NaBloPoMo..!
    Have fun!!

It sounds funny but, right now, I do not know where I would be without my blog. I didn’t think I would need it as much as I did. Sometimes, when there is no one there to talk to, it can be a lifesaver. I look forward to checking in on you every day. Good luck! And, if you must take a leave of absence, we require at least two weeks notice.

Kookiejar, don’t count on much more traffic. At least last year, it didn’t really bring in more folks for me…I think that so many people participate, and with a post a day, some folks end up reading FEWER blogs, rather than more.

However, it’s fun, and it’s a good way to challenge yourself to write daily.

I’m such a joiner. And I’m already getting really nervous – I’m a NaBloPoMo virgin here, but thought it would be fun. I guess we’ll see?!
I love reading your posts though – I wouldn’t worry about lack of quality on your part.

No way, I could do that!!! I’m a minimalist like Rachie-Babe!

I checked out your Weird Meme and tried to leave a comment, but it wouldn’t let me so I’ll try here.

“Whink Rust Stain Remover” is the best product I’ve ever used on the toiletries.

check it out so you will know what to look for!

I’m with ya! I’m looking forward to it, actually. I’m finding that for some reason, the more I write, the more I write! Does that make any sense?

*sigh* I never thought of myself as much of a “follower”. Since all the cool kids are doing it though, I guess I’ll do it too. LOL! Just kidding. I actually just started blogging last year and saw a bunch of other people doing the NaBloPoMo thing. I’m always up for a challenge, so this year I’m in! Looking forward to reading your posts!
