Seether – Veruca Salt

I’ve decided to post this video today to divert myself from posting a review of The Almost Moon, which I finished a few days ago, and which I wrote the review for on Tuesday, but I don’t want to post it today because I just posted a book review YESTERDAY for crap’s sake, and can’t I just slow down with the books or something? And I had a good excuse with Number the Stars and Ethan Frome, as they are very short and easy reads, but now I’m back to regular grown up books, and I can’t stop. Would it disturb you to know that as a tween, I used to lie to my friends and tell them I was grounded, because I knew they would not understand if I told them I couldn’t come out and play because I had to know what was going to happen next in my book? (Not always, don’t worry…I got my fair share of exercise and socializing and vitamin D, but sometimes…) What if I told you that I sometimes keep a book next to my computer so that when my computer freezes up (which it does OFTEN and for long periods…my work is in the process of getting me a new one), I can read a page or two? (Not always, sometimes I make the bed or iron a shirt or brush my hair or something else…) So, I’m on a reading bender lately, and I’m not quite ready to post another book review, and I’m totally engrossed in my next book, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, which I almost let someone talk me out of reading, and thank goodness I didn’t…

So…anyway, here’s a song I like to sing to myself sometimes when I’m angry and feeling mean and I can’t really control the words that want to come out of my mouth. Which isn’t often, but it does happen.

Wow, you couldn’t have picked a better song! I’m in one of those moods and this song fits very well.

I like to read your book reviews, so review away for crap’s sake 😉

Yeh, do more book reviews! I really love this song. I have it on my iPod and listen to it a lot. I think it’s because I fit this model here,
“I can’t really control the words that want to come out of my mouth.” You know, the older I get the more I feel the need to let the guard off my mouth. Can you imagine when I’m 80? 🙂

The title of the book your are currently reading reminded me of the title of an F. Scott Fitzgerald short story I recently read called “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”. It is about a man who is aging in reverse, and is currently being made into a movie starring Brad Pitt. I highly recommend the read…very interesting and should be an interesting premise for a movie.

That’s funny Starshine, because I think Brad Pitt also bought the rights to the book I’m reading! He’s going to confuse audiences if he’s in two movies with such similar titles!

Your post made me laugh – I used to do the same thing as a kid, lie to my friends so they wouldn’t think I was a dork for wanting to lay in bed and read!! Now I have a daughter who is the same way and I’m constantly telling her it’s okay if she doesn’t want to go to the movies so she can finish her book. On the same note, my youngest daughter has NO interest in reading books for pleasure, so go figure.

After I read your review of The Almost Moon – I went straight to my library’s website and ordered it. Thanks.
