The first picture, I like the shadows and the hint of fog coming over the hills…that’s our local air conditioning. Mostly it’s the light, and the fields, which is such a memory of my childhood. Stockton is a biggish city, with almost 300,000 people now. But it’s still surrounded by farms. Far fewer than there used to be, but still lots. I love the light in this pic. I wish I hadn’t gotten the telephone pole, though.
The second picture is a restaurant I drove by on my way to my friend’s wedding in Sonoma. I couldn’t figure out what European Soul food might possibly be. Turns out it’s a restaurant called LoKal, which is Eastern European food. They supposedly have awesome goulash. http://www.lokalsonoma.com/

The first picture looks like Brentwood corn field. love the hills and sky with the the post. Soul food is spreading. I wonder what the European soul food is.
Posting pictures taken from inside a moving car is such an interesting idea. I’d like it try it, too.
Of course, being the commoner that I am, I had to look up the meaning of “NO CORKAGE” in the window of the restaurant. What pairs well with goulash anyway? I wouldn’t even know. 🙂
When we lived in Philadelphia, there was a limit on the number of liquor licenses that were out there…so new restaurants sometimes couldn’t get them. Which meant there were a lot of restaurants that couldn’t serve alcohol. It was a great money saver, because you could bring your own wine, which was much cheaper than paying jacked up prices. I liked it. Out here, it’s not too common to find a place that doesn’t charge for corkage. Love it.
