Messing Up

I updated my theme here on the old blog, and lost my book reviews and blogroll and so on. Looks like I have some work to do to fix it, but I’m not in the mood right this minute. I hope I can remember all of my friends blog urls, since I don’t use a reader…I just come here, click the link from my sidebar, and get there that way.

Sigh.

Oh crap. I hate it when that happens — which does happen when you update a theme or the back end. You can restore the old version, save the html coding and then update (again) and input your original code with all the custom settings.

Oh, here I am! 😉 Blogger just offered new templates, too, but when I look at them, I prefer my current setup. I don’t want to lose anything (even though I have a copy of my template in Word, JIC), and I know just enough HTML/XML to be dangerous. I can goof around with my minimalistic layout and add stuff here and there, but I like to think that the Content Is The Thing. (Isn’t it?)

Here’s another url you might want to add, or at least check out: http://www.mylifetaketwo.com/

I’ve read your blog on and off for awhile (I’ve even left a comment or two on rare occasions), and was initially drawn here by your book reviews. I seem to recall that you either linked to one of Wendy’s old blogs or at least you were a reader of hers as well, and I recently discovered that she is writing online again. I can’t remember which of the two of you I had discovered first, but I used to read both of your blogs with some regularity.

Like you, I don’t use a reader or subscribe to websites, so if I lose my links (in my favorites or my notes, as I don’t even have my own blog or website) I have to recreate them as well. Good luck putting everything back together!

Nance, I wasn’t changing…just heard there was a new version of my theme available. I’ve gotten bitten before for letting it get too far out of date, hence when you look at old posts, and there are strange characters (the typographical kind, that is) lurking in the midst of sentences and sometimes even words.

The content should be the thing. Lately I’ve felt like I’ve lost my mojo in that department, though. Gotta work on it.
